Police arrested a 29-year-old woman teacher, who had allegedly ‘eloped' with her Class X boy student, in Fatehabad town on Monday. A court remanded the teacher to judicial custody, said inspector Surender Kumar, who is the investigating officer (IO) of the case.
Police said the 15-year-old boy (15) and the teacher had gone missing on Friday. It became known when the private school's principal, suspecting foul play, called the families of both of them, the IO said.
After that the boy's father approached police, the teacher was booked for ‘kidnapping for murder' in a case registered at Fatehabad City police station. The boy's father alleged that the teacher had been pressurizing and luring his son.
Investigations revealed that the student would interact with the teacher quite often. The two had exchanged cellphone numbers and were connected to each other on social media as well, police said. "We found that the boy and the teacher had exchanged calls frequently. On Friday, the teacher had left her mobile phone at home. On Monday morning, she was arrested in Fatehabad. The student was produced before the magistrate where detailed the sequence of events," said the inspector. He said the accused teacher confessed to have taken the boy with her. "She first took him to Hisarand from there the two went to Delhi. Later, they left for Katra in Jammu and Kashmir. Last location of the boy was found in Katra," he said. The IO ruled out if the accused teacher had forced herself on the boy. "Since nothing of this sort came to light, we did not press for their medical examination. Soon after arrest, the woman teacher was produced in the court," he said.
